In addition, the sheep wool has a natural self-cleaning function. As a natural, renewable raw material, sheep wool is environmentally friendly, consumes no additional resources, and is fully biodegradable. It is also highly colorfast and naturally flame retardant. The rug is crafted using fine needlework where the thread is manually inserted and then glued. Hand-tufted rugs are visually almost indistinguishable from hand-knotted ones, though minor deviations in size and pattern may occur due to the handcrafted nature.
